HOKKAIDO
Hokkaido is the northernmost of the four major islands of Japan. This region is famous for its powder snow, and its winter landscape attracts visitors who come to experience the spectacular view of snow-covered forested field and mountains. Yuki Matsuri, also called "Sapporo Snow Festivals" in English, is globally well-known. This map chooses snow as the symbol of Hokkaido and sets it as the concept of its railway map. The whole island is shaped into a snow crystal.
일본을 이루는 네 섬 중에 가장 북쪽에 위치한 홋카이도는 아름다운 설경과 특유의 가루눈으로 유명한 세계적인 겨울 관광지입니다. 홋카이도 레일웨이 시스템의 컨셉은 눈 결정입니다. 섬 전체가 눈 결정의 육각형에 맞춰 지역별로 나누어져, 고루 퍼져 있는 JR 선들이 뼈대를 이루고 지하철, 지상 전차, 케이블 등 나머지 노선들이 그 위에 배치 되어 있어 전체적으로 눈의 결정 모양과 어우러집니다.

CITY RAILWAY SYSTEM
City Railway System is a new approach to projecting the identity of a city onto its subway map. Whereas conventional subway maps aim at conveying information as clearly and concisely as possible, the City Railway System by ZERO PER ZERO distinctively incorporates symbolic elements of each city into its map while preserving clarity. As a special consideration for tourists, major landmarks and tourist attractions are indicated on the subway maps, so that tourists can easily figure out the fastest way to get to the destination at a glance. The railway map itself is also good as a souvenir. 시티 레일웨이 시스템은 도시의 아이덴티티를 노선도에 불어넣은 새로운 컨셉의 노선도 디자인입니다. 기존의 노선도는 정보를 명확하게 전달하는 것을 중요시 한 반면, 제로퍼제로는 정보를 충실하게 담으면서 그 위에 도시의 상징성을 덧입힘으로써 노선도를 하나의 새로운 그래픽 디자인으로 탄생시켰습니다. 도시를 방문하는 관광객들이 역과 그 주변의 주요 관광 스팟을 동시에 알아볼 수 있게 하면서 동시에 그 도시를 상징하는 기념품으로서의 가치도 가집니다.
